Programs - Career Guidance

ReachOut 56-81 representatives in New York have traveled to Paul Robeson High School in Brooklyn and presented on their careers and their professions. Some 20 of our classmates have been involved in this process over the last decade. The program has included follow-up visits to law firms, accounting firms, architectural firms and the like.

Since its earlier stages at Paul Robeson, ReachOut has expanded its career guidance services to a new program in Trenton. Youthbuild, an offshoot of the non-profit, community development organization Isles, is a program that both allows for the acquisition of a high school diploma and encourages job training. This year, ReachOut will work with Youthbuild in beginning its Learning for Life initiative – a mission aimed at maximizing the potential of students by helping them find the clearest path to their goals.

Learning for Life encourages lifetime development including but not limited to academia, and will feature guest lecturers from several professions as well as one-on-one mentoring. For more information about the program, please contact a ReachOut representative. For more information on Youthbuild or its parent organization Isles, please visit Isles.org.
